ER Trip

So far, Evan hasn't had any real serious injuries so far.  But he did have to take a trip last Monday to the Emergency Room with Daddy.

I was working out, and Evan is usually really good about staying away from me while I workout, playing with whatever or watching TV.  But on that day, as I was doing my first set of bootcamp exercises, he came running up to me so fast, I really couldn't stop.  I was doing jumping jacks with 8 lb weights, and the dumbbell came up and he ran right into it.  It hit his cheekbone, right underneath his eye.  The poor little guy was crying and I had to give him lots of kisses and hugs.  I thought it was just bruised, but then I saw that there was blood seeping out of it.  So, I got a bandaid, and that seemed to help with the bleeding.  I didn't think much of it, because after only a few minutes, Evan was fine and I didn't have a car.  So, I kept checking on him, and being extra cautious, continued my workout.  I figured that Rick only had about 45 minutes until he came home, so he could take Evan in to the emergency room.

So, when Rick came home, I made him check out Evan's cut and eye, and Rick agreed with me that we should take him to the emergency room.  Rick said that Evan was pretty good, but the worst part for him was when they irrigated the cut.  Apparently, he did not like that at all (who would?)  I'm glad that they went because Evan got some medical super glue (stuff?) on the cut, because otherwise I think he would have just messed with the band-aid.

This is the best picture that we could get.  It looked slightly worse than this.  And, of course, I felt like the worst mom in the world after!

Phone Pictures

I just realized that we have a ton of pictures from Rick's phone that I've never put up before...so here we go (and they're quite...dated, some of them):

On our way home at Christmas time.  (or on our way to Arizona?)

Evan trying to blow the dandelion.  This is right before we left Maryland.

So little.  Eating cereal for the first time.

And so bald.

Evan in his little cardboard car.  Love this thing.

In the fire engine during the squadron luau (at Fort Meade)

Logan's first time joining his brother in the shopping cart.

Evan with some friends that the Fathers and Sons camp out last year.

Evan's friend Dalia's 1st birthday.

He loved the cake.

This is OLD.  Logan, only a few weeks old, at the oldest.  Crazy how much they grow in a year.
Evan sporting his Mississippi Surge hockey jersey and stick.

At Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, playing a fisherman.

Logan wearing his vest.

Wanting to play with the airplane.

Waving?  I don't recall what he has in his hand...

Trying on bunny ears.

Playing at Lynn Meadows some more.

Evan preparing some Mexican food... mm.
Phew!  Totally relieved that I have a record of all these pictures now.  Crazy.

More pictures from Sarah's visit

Evan claimed Sarah's suitcase as soon as she brought it in the house.

Evan trying on some bunny ears.

Logan didn't like the bunny ears so much.

Evan trying on mommy's sunglasses.

Logan on the way home from the beach.  Look at those blue eyes!
Another pic of Evan on the way home in my sunglasses.

Evan looking crazy after church.

Trying to get a picture of the boys together.

Evan enjoying his frozen custard from Bop's!

Logan was a little moocher.

He really enjoyed that ice cream.

Yum... frozen custard.
We were so thankful to have Sarah visit us for the long weekend.  We miss her a lot already.  The boys loved all the attention she gave them and I loved that I wasn't the only one that they were bugging.  :)

Easter Festivities

We had a lot of fun with Easter this year.  Mainly because Auntie Sarah was visiting.  On Saturday night we were all super tired from the beach, so we mainly just cleaned up a little bit and then dyed eggs.  Which Evan loved doing with Daddy.  Logan was asleep already at that time, so he missed out.  Oh well.  Maybe next year he'll be more aware of what's going on.

Rick figuring out the colors

Evan was hanging around, knowing something was about to go down.

Rick showing Evan what he was doing.

Evan is really good at supervising.

He picked out the colors and tried taking them out sooner than Daddy wanted...

Playing with the Cars stickers

Daddy finishing off the eggs.

Evan proud of his accomplishment.  (He's good at taking credit for things he didn't do!)
The boys waking up Auntie Sarah

Logan not really sure what was going on.

He wanted Evan's instead.

Logan was so happy.

Heading downstairs after church.

Finding Easter eggs

Evan had to stop and check to make sure there was stuff in them (he learned his lesson from last year at Fort Meade during the Housing Easter Egg hunt)

Logan liked the grass in his basket

Evan starting to enjoy some candy.

Both boys looking at their spoils.

Logan enjoying some chocolate.

Evan decorating sugar cookies.

Sarah and Logan watching brother.
On Easter morning the boys got their baskets before church and I let them have one piece of candy.  Then we went to church, and then came home.  We all changed out of our church clothes and the boys did their Easter Egg hunt inside.

We had a yummy Easter dinner with roast chicken and some veggies.  And, let me say, it was a GOOD roast chicken.  First time I've had the chicken come out that moist.
