Hey, I had a baby

Woah! (said like Joey from Blossom)  It's certainly been a while since I've updated this thing.  Things have been quite busy lately.  Basically I whined and complained through the end of February until March 6 when I had to be induced and Sadie was born.  In my defense, this was my longest pregnancy, and even a week late from her EDD she showed no signs of coming on her own, and I was totally okay with them inducing me.

They broke my water first, let me "labor" on my own for a few hours.  The monitors weren't picking up on really intense contractions, and I felt that they were intense, so I told them pretty bluntly that I was in pain.  They put an internal monitor on me, and told me that the reason why my contractions show up differently or not as intensely as what I was feeling is because my uterus most likely has a different "wave" pattern than normal.  LAME.  So, basically I'm always going to have to get an internal monitor on me and will probably always have to get pitocin.

Anyways, I got to a 6, and then felt a strong shift in my contractions, including the feeling of such intense pressure I felt like I needed to start pushing.  I probably could have handled the pain alone, but not with that pushing feeling also, so I asked for an epidural.  In came the awesome anesthesiologist who reminded me so much of Todd from "Scrubs" it was crazy.  Anyways, as soon as I got the epidural in, I was still feeling a bit of pain, but it was much more manageable.  AND, I laid around lazily for another hour and was about to fall asleep when the nurse checked me and told Rick that I couldn't fall asleep because the baby's head was right there.  And, Rick apparently could see all of her hair.

Anyways, 3 or 4 coughs later and she was born (they seriously told me to cough or laugh).

7 lbs, 1 oz and 19 inches long, born at 5:40ish PM on Thursday, March 6, 2014.  I am so glad that she didn't have the same birthday as Logan.  Anyways, by far this has been my easiest recovery yet, and I feel like we're finally getting into some semblance of a routine.

Evan loved her from the beginning

Logan just wanted to see me.

Sadie's birthday cake.

Evan and Logan don't mind Sadie so much since they got some cake and ice cream.

She looks like a little doll.  Kind of creepy.

Anyways, I will put up a few more pictures from the past couple of months in a new post.  We're so happy to have this little sweet lady is in our family!
