Visiting Utah and Arizona

I'm absolutely positive that this is our last year going home for Christmas.  I know that part of it is because I was pregnant, but talk about an exhausting vacation!  We flew out on the 19th to Utah.  This was our first time flying to Utah for Christmas, and what an experience it was!

Because of the worse than they anticipated snowstorm, SLC flights were delayed and totally crowded.  We had a layover in Denver that was pushed back a couple of hours.  I am so thankful that we weren't stranded in Denver.  We ended up getting to my parents house around midnight.  Both boys were passed out, exhausted and went straight to sleep in their regular clothes.

I am so thankful that my boys are amazing at traveling for the most part.  No issues at all, except when they started getting cranky, of course.

We enjoyed our time in Utah.  I don't have as near as many pictures from Arizona.  But, we had a lot of fun visiting Arizona as well.  I think we especially enjoyed all the lovely weather in Phoenix.

Opening up some gifts Christmas morning.

Logan was super excited to see that he got a vacuum cleaner from Nana and Papa.

I love how happy Evan is in this picture

This boy loved all the sledding action!

I got a couple of pictures of Evan and Logan on a hike in Arizona, but I didn't feel like putting them up yet.  They had a lot of fun in Phoenix with the whole family.  We were just fighting colds and stomach bugs the entire time that we were gone!  We're looking forward to driving out to Arizona this August for Maria and Scott's wedding.  And we'll have to see about Utah for Christmas...after all the crazy stuff that happened on our flight there and on our flight home, I think we might be homebodies next year.

Shoveling Snow

We had a big storm on Friday, and on Saturday morning, after the snow stopped, we all went outside to help Rick shovel the snow.  It was a great work out!  Thankfully, we had bought snow pants and snow boots for our two boys (From Once Upon a Child---gotta love the consignment stores!), and they really enjoyed getting out their with us, trudging through the snow.

Evan has his own little shovel, that I think Logan is jealous of.  Logan just enjoyed stomping.  He was so mad at me, since I let Evan get ready and go out first.  He wouldn't let me even put snow pants on him, but I had to put on his snow boots over his footie fleece pajamas and his coat as well.

Anyways, on to the super cute pictures of them loving the snow.

Evan is a good, hard worker.

"Helping" daddy

Logan was super curious about the snow.  It was his first time really walking in it.
He was laughing hysterically when Rick cleaned off the top of the car.

Evan shoveling while Logan wanted to taste the snow.

Yum.  Icee?

One of my little explorers.

Evan, Logan and Rick all wrestling as soon as Daddy gets home.

Evan is in this picture too.  You can't really see anything except his undies.  HA HA!

Thanksgiving Weekend

I actually don't have too many pictures from Thanksgiving dinner, because I wasn't really thinking.  I guess we kind of have an excuse.

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, we decided to go out to eat at Longhorn Steakhouse, which is one of our favorite restaurants.  I noticed that Evan was a little crankier than usual, but I didn't think too much about it.  We got drinks, ordered our food, and then Evan started choking...  I put my hand on his back (he was sitting right next to me), and he proceeded to puke all over the two of us.  My poor baby.  I just hate when they're sick like that.  And of course, he has to be sick in public.  BOO!

They boxed up all the food for us and we went back home, where Evan proceeded to puke on and off for the rest of the night.  And then he woke up at 3 in the morning, super thirsty and I stayed up with him on Wednesday.  Rick was home sick with whatever Evan had (and Logan, who seemed to have a more mild version of it).  ALSO, I was sick, but it didn't effect me as horribly as Evan and Rick, so I wasn't too bad.

I went to pick up my sister Sarah from the airport.  She flew in to see us for Thanksgiving.  So, on Wednesday, we were pretty lame hosts, but we were all feeling a lot better on Thursday.  We decided to clean up a little bit, since it was horribly messy downstairs from us not picking up and cleaning on Wednesday before Sarah came.

We also watched Elf, which I think the boys enjoyed since they were laughing on and off all morning watching it.

After watching the movie, we set up the Christmas tree.  It was awesome, all I had to do was get the ornaments out, and the boys decorated the tree.  They loved doing it so much they've been undoing their decorations and redoing them since then.

The day before Evan got so sick.  He and Logan are now getting better at sitting together for pictures.
Poor Evan stayed on his little couch, cuddling his kitty cat and blanket all day.
Still recovering:  This was Evan when he came down the stairs on Thanksgiving.  I guess he wasn't done sleeping.  I need to frame this picture.

Love Logan's curious expression while looking at the ornament
Decorating the tree together.  Brothers.
Evan putting some ornaments up.
Evan's craft for Thanksgiving.  He did these in preschool.
I didn't take any pictures of us eating, but it was a smaller feast than normal because our tummies were a little queasy still.  Rick and I went out late that night to Toys R Us to get a train table for Evan, but they were all out by that time.   We bought Evan his first video game, and then left that crazy store.  We then headed to Walmart, and found a ton of stuff for the boys. We came home around 10:30, and passed out in bed.  We woke up the next morning, put some cute Christmas shirts on the boys and attempted to take some Christmas pictures.

This is the first one we took after we set up the tree on Thanksgiving.  LOL at Evan's eyes squinting.

So cute.

That's a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin that Logan is gnawing on.

This is from Thanksgiving as well, but I LOVE this picture of Logan.
On Friday we just went shopping, and on Friday night we went to Labor and Delivery because I was having a bit of an issue.  (Everything is fine, I got the medicine I needed).  And then after that Rick and I went out to see "Catching Fire".  We loved the movie, and it was so nice to get out on a date all by ourselves.
Logan LOVES playing with the wrapping paper.  I'm pretty sure we should just buy him rolls of wrapping paper for his birthday.
On Saturday, we woke up and got the boys ready for EnterTRAINment Junction in Cincinnati, and they had so much fun.  Unfortunately, Sarah caught whatever we had earlier in the week and had to stay home to rest up.
Evan pointing at the model trains.  (And holding his Lego Christmas tree)

Logan shoveling coal.  They had so much fun.

Logan stepping down from the train.  He loved going up and down the step.

Evan riding on the train.  He's so cute.

Logan getting a ride on Daddy's shoulders.

This is what Evan looked like most of the time that he was at the museum.  He loved the trains.

My three boys checking out the train.

On our "journey" to the North Pole to meet Santa.

Checking out the reindeer.

Eating their cookie and looking at Christmas trees and displays.

Logan was getting super tired at this point.
Sunday we went to church and we came home and rested all evening and spent time with Sarah, who was feeling better at this point.  I made turkey noodle soup, one of my favorite "leftovers" dinners.
Sunday night we put together the Mickey Gingerbread house that we got for the boys to do with Sarah.

Logan was more interested in the candy then the actual house.

Evan actually decorating.

Then taking a break to munch on some candy.

The whole family together.  Just before this pic, Logan had stuck a red hot up his nose, and during this pic we realized Evan wanted to know what it felt like too.  Apparently, he didn't like it.

My two sweet boys.

Admiring their handiwork.
We're so glad that Sarah came to see us for Thanksgiving.  Even though we're not as close to her as we were in Fort Meade, it makes me really happy that we're close enough to drive to her and to get cheap plane tickets to fly.  She left early Monday morning, and the boys already miss her, I just know it!

Thanksgiving was pretty good this year, considering how we were all dreading eating anything at all on Thursday.  Thankful for our family, and the time that we have together to make memories.  We're also thankful for so many of our blessings that we have!

Renaissance Fair

This is completely out of order.  I just posted about Halloween, and we went to the Renaissance Fair here in Ohio our first full weekend (so October 19, I think?)

It was COLD!  Lots of rain, and misting and cold.  We ended up staying for only a few hours, but the boys for the most part liked eating and all that stuff.  Next year we plan on going in September, during the warmer part of the season!

Myself with the boys.  I don't know why I bother trying to straighten my hair here.

Evan and Daddy, out and walking.

Eating their mac and cheese in a bread bowl.  Look how cold Logan is....geez.  Poor babies.
They're used to WARM rain in Mississippi, not the COLD rain.

Evan is a WAIF.  HA HA!  Figures!
Logan with his hat that Rick bought for him.
Looking forward to going next year when it's a bit warmer.  Rick really wanted to go, and it was the last weekend, so that's why we went.  My poor babies, so freezing.  And I'll admit it, I was pretty miserable in the cold rain also.
