I wanted to blog while on vacation, but I found out that I am out of space on our last blog... So that means that we get to start a brand spanking new blog!
I had been thinking of doing this for a while, a new blog for each station we go to. I use the blog like a journal, and I figured it would be a good way to remember things about each area we went to.
So, here we go: We moved out of Mississippi on March 11. Rick passed his Security+ test (of course). We passed our final housing inspection there with flying colors and then we sat around for a few hours waiting for the very last briefing Rick had to do, which was, of course in the afternoon.
We planned on driving from Biloxi to Chattanooga (where our hotel was) on the first night. We left around 3:00-3:30. They had given us a 26 foot truck and a trailer to tow our car instead of the the 20 foot and a dolly for the car, so we weren't too happy about having to tow so much length. I say we, but really, Rick did it. Evan had a blast sitting in his car seat in between us, and we drove the crazy, scary route to Chattanooga while only getting lost on our way to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. It was pretty intense, thank goodness a couple of locals took pity on the Air Force kid and his family. We've never seen so much road kill in our lives on that road from Mississippi to Tennessee. It was so disgusting. We got to our hotel around 1:30-2:00 in the morning, and we were so exhausted. We fell into bed after we found someplace to park the monster truck.
The next morning we had a shorter trip to Riner, Virginia to visit with my Uncle John and Aunt Cathy. It was really nice of them to have us. It was so nice to be in a nice place, with a real personable room (not just a hotel room with crazy modern art). The trip wasn't as bad as the night before. It was still long, but not too bad.
The next day we went up to Arlington to spend the night at my sister Sarah's house. We had a mishap with Rick removing the Saturn from the trailer (a flat tire and some intense scariness). The problem was resolved, we rested while Sarah made us a yummy rotisserie chicken dinner.
The next day, Sarah came up with us to Maryland where we signed our lease, moved our stuff in, returned the moving truck, almost ended up in Annapolis instead of Fort Meade, took Sarah out to eat to thank her for helping us move, took her home, and then came back and rearranged packing for our flight to Phoenix. We got to sleep in on the next day and we went to Phoenix. Evan was so wiggly and rough to handle during the trip to Phoenix. But we arrived in one piece and mostly sane, and we enjoyed our vacation (posts to follow).
What do you mean resize? All of mine are bigger but I've never been told that I'm "out of space"... I don't get it.
