Evan and Logan Update

I don't have as near as many pictures of these two, partly because they don't sit still anymore and Sadie doesn't move at all yet.  It's kind of nice!

Anyways, these two have become the best of friends and the worst of enemies lately.  They are super cute when they play together.  They have even started to hold hands in the parking lot when we are walking somewhere.  Evan's learned from me to have an iron grip on his little brother's hand.

Evan has been a little insane since the school year ended.  He is finally getting used to having a really loose schedule again.  We have been watching more TV than usual, but at this point, I don't really care.  They also run around constantly and get time outside to play  (when it's not rainy or gloomy), so I don't think it's that big of a deal.  Plus, Evan really started talking more while watching TV.  We owe Blues Clues a lot with how much he's come out of his shell.

We've also started going to the library once a week, and they play with puzzles while I browse the books.  All three of us are participating in a Summer Reading challenge through the library.  It seems like a really good system and the nearest branch is only 5 minutes away or so.

Logan gets upset when Evan gets to play at the really, really fun speech therapy place and he has to wait in the waiting room.  It really sucks for the poor little guy because there is a ton of fun stuff in there for him!

I've got some plans for this summer, including going to the Lego Monday fun days at the library, storytime is on Wednesdays, baking every week together, making s'mores in the backyard, playing at splash parks and playgrounds and doing some fun science experiments through the summer.  Of course, I'm also of the mind that it is not my job to entertain my four and half year old 24/7 during the summer.  He's going to have to figure out some things to do himself.

And I'm pretty sure I am going to homeschool, but it won't be until we move to our next base, or sooner, if needed.  The district here is really good, and Evan is still too wild for me to handle at home with all my other kids when they're young.  Eventually we'll get to it, but I don't think it will be until 2nd grade or so.

Evan's school picture 1. So cute.

How did the photographer get him to pose like this.

Seriously, so cute.

Eating pizza at a friend's birthday party.

Someone enjoying his gogurt.

Evan during his end of the year performance.  His face on the stage.

And hands over his ears.

Surfer hair:  Pre hair cut.
Post hair cut.  He wasn't happy with Daddy for uctting his hair.

All about Sadie

Sadie has been in our family for about 3 1/2 months now.  She is getting so big, it's crazy.  I just love this little girl a ton.  She is finally starting to show her personality.  She's awfully feisty, which will probably good in the long run, with those two older, rambunctious brothers.  I have a feeling she will be the boss of them (even if it's only in her mind) soon enough.  I find it crazy how much quicker they seem to grow, the more that you have.  With Evan the first three months seemed to drag on and on.  That may have been because he was a screamer and colicky though.  With Sadie, I hold on to her for as long as I can, it seems.  She is our biggest baby (meaning she grows the fastest).  She's already in 3-6 and 6 month size clothes and she's in the average for weight and height in growth charts, which is so weird because the boys were like below 10% (each of them, for both categories).

Jeggings on baby girls are the best.

I may have gone bow/headband crazy for her.

Oh my.  She is just darling.

This little denim jump suit is still a little big on her.

Crazy bed head.

Cross-eyed like her Aunt Bethany.

Smiles.  She smiles all the time now too.

This was while watching us eat at one of our favorite restaurants (Columbian food)

A few weeks ago before church.

That bow.  HA HA.  I love it.

She wasn't impressed with the band at Rick's work picnic.

Hey there.  (By the way, Rick called this onesie her wallpaper onesie.)

This was after her first flight!  She did so well, but this is her snob face (She was wondering why she was with all the peasants in business class).

Crazy hair after her bath.

Somebody after waking up.

Logan is constantly petting her.  I'm pretty sure he thinks of her as his dog.

Wearing one of her purple Batman onesies.

This was while we were watching World Cup.  She was dissatisfied with England's performance.

When we're out in public now she will fall asleep holding her links in the car seat.  It's so nice.

Once again pulling her headband and bow over her eyes.

Cute baby with her chubby cheeks.

Sadie's Blessing Day

Sadie was blessed on March 30.  It was a really lovely blessing by Rick.  I took some pictures for the occasion.  My mom (Nana) made her lovely dress.  It was so beautiful.  She is SO the first granddaughter on my side of the family.  She is really spoiled.

Logan didn't want to pose with Evan and Sadie at first.

Pretty little lady.

It's pulling teeth to try and get them to all look at the camera!
I really need to try and photoshop Rick's mustache off.  That thing was beyond nasty.

Sadie and I.

My three babies.  Logan is thrilled, can you tell?

Sadie in her princess/blessing dress in all it's glory!

Easter 2014

Easter was low key this year.  I invited friends over on the Friday before for a potluck lunch and an Easter egg hunt in our backyard.  It was a lot of fun.  I really miss having people come over for playgroups.  I should try and get something going again with that.

Playing in the back yard after the egg hunt.

My boys just loved having friends from the ward come over.

Rick and I decided from now on we'll be doing Easter egg hunts and baskets on the Saturday before Easter, so we could focus on Christ and the Resurrection on Sunday.

Logan was so happy to get his first set of Legos.  (He wants to be just like Evan)

Evan liked what he got in his basket
Sadie got a little stuffed bunny and the princess movie "Brave".

Logan.
Sunday we went to church.  It was a really good Sunday.  We snapped a few pictures ahead of time.  And then, instead of one of our traditional Easter dinners of ham, roasted chicken or beef roast, we did a surf and turf dinner instead.  It ended up being really good.  :)

Me with my three babies.
Sadie in her first Easter dress.  She's thrilled, I tell you.

Her first tutu outfit.  It's a little ridiculous, but oh so cute.

Apparently I'm comfortable.  Thankful for boppy pillows, which are good for nursing, AND sleepy toddlers.

Logan's 2nd Birthday

Logan had his second birthday on March 3rd.
Logan the morning of his birthday.

Logan enjoyed opening the toys.
Evan wanted to pose for the camera also.

Singing happy birthday to the handsome boy.

He enjoyed his cake and ice cream.
Evan is such a little nerd.

Logan is such a big boy,  he chose the bundt pan out for his birthday cake.  And he had both Grandma Chappell and Nana Carpenter out to celebrate.

This kid just lights up the room when he comes in.  He has such a bright, bubbly personality.   In the last three months, he's given up his binky and transitioned to his toddler bed.  He loves playing with Evan and his favorite toys are cars and planes.  He loves watching Paw Patrol, Mickey Mouse, and Wallykazaam.  He talks so muchnow, of course half of what he says we still can't understand.  He is a picky water but loves pizza and fruit.  He very much loves playing outdoors in the playground.  He can throw a mean temper tantrum, but he still cuddles wih me while I read him books as well.

We love you Logan, and are so happy to have you in our family!
