Sewing Projects

I finally finished all the baby projects that I had planned to make.  I was thinking of making a blessing dress for her also, but my mom actually volunteered to sew her a blessing dress, maybe using my wedding dress as the fabric.  I don't really care, I thought it sounded good to me, so I don't have to stress about it.

So, here is what I made for baby girl:

Nursing shawl
This was my first project.  I had never made a nursing shawl before.  It was the first time that I had ever used elastic and boning, which was super, super intimidating.  BUT, it ended up being a lot easier than I expected.  It's a full coverage nursing shawl, so it covers my back also.  I don't know how often I'll use it in the summer, but it should be fine for now.
car seat cover
These are the best things to make.  So simple, quick, etc.  I've changed up the tutorial that I use a little bit so the straps are more snug on the carrier handle.  I really like the way this turned out.  The colors and fabric are so cute.
Baby blankie, backed with Minky.
So, this is another project that I made that is nice for her car seat.  It was the first time I used Minky though, so it was hard to keep straight.  And I am very, very glad that I now have my amazing Babylock machine to help.  This would have been impossible on that very first machine that I bought.  I had some issues too, because the bobbin ran out while I was doing one side and I had already pulled out most of the pins.

Burp Cloths
The burp cloths are made from scrap fabric I had laying around and chenille.  I made five for myself, and the rest of the chenille I am saving to make for baby shower gifts for friends.  They are really easy and so soft. I have a feeling that the baby will love putting her face on the burp cloths.
